We are named Kulkea (cool-kee-ah), the Finnish word meaning “to go and travel.” Our goal is to free the adventurous spirit within all of us.
History In Motion
Kulkea was founded in 2009 by two New Englanders who reimagined adventure carry. Raised by a Finnish mother who survived the Winter War to venture the world, they learned the artistry of details, the value of perseverance and to eat-sleep-breathe adventure.
Kulkea was born when they saw a need to solve the shortcomings of traditional outdoor gear bags. Their pioneering prototype quickly became the go-to for avid skiers. Kulkea grew a cult following, standing for a renewed heritage of technically designed, premium gear bags that last for your adventure lifetime.
